On November 18, 2023, the Greek Bible College celebrated its 50th anniversary at the Divani Caravel Hotel, highlighting God’s faithfulness in its history.

The anniversary event was filled with gratitude and appreciation for all who have been part of this journey. Alumni, faculty, staff, and friends gathered to celebrate the College’s 50-year history and its significant influence on the Evangelical community and beyond, giving all glory to God’s faithfulness.

The evening began with a heartfelt welcome from the hosts, who acknowledged God’s faithful work in Greece through the Greek Bible College. Faculty members delivered inspiring speeches about the College’s vital role in the past, present, and future, stressing the life-transforming power of biblical education and its direct link to effective Christian ministry. Graduates also shared moving personal stories of how the College shaped their lives and ministries.

The night paid special tribute to the pioneers who laid the College’s foundations, acknowledging God’s sovereign guidance throughout their work. A highlight of the evening was the awarding of honorary distinctions to the founding couples: Robert & Maria Hill, John & Joyce Friezen, and Bill & Marion Baldwin. These visionary leaders were recognized for their pivotal role in establishing the College and their unwavering commitment to theological education for decades.

Honorary awards were also given to representatives of former directors, GEM missionaries who served the College, and partner churches from the Evangelical community. Special recognition was extended to faculty and staff members who have faithfully supported students in both their academic pursuits and their calling to spread the Word of God.

A highlight of the evening was the screening of a short video that showcased a rich collection of photographs, tracing the College’s journey from its humble beginnings to the present. The video beautifully illustrated the institution’s lasting impact and valuable contribution to Christian ministry both in Greece and internationally.
