The College

Who We Are

Τhe Greek Bible College is an institution serving Greek evangelical churches and is based in Pikermi of Attica, Greece. Our aim is to educate and equip our students through a high level of academic teaching, through the opportunities that we offer for practical ministry as well as for dynamic character formation in the Christian environment of the student and teacher community.

In our college we train people from various denominational backgrounds so that our students are given many opportunities to broaden their horizons and learn from each other.

Τhe Greek Bible College encourages and seeks dialogue and cooperation with the denominations of all Christian dogmas, because it maintains the belief that despite the dogmatic differences between Christians throughout the world and history, sincere believers who solely rely on the person of Jesus Christ for their salvation is the Body of Christ, which is not defined or limited by any dogma but remains under the judgment of the heart-knowing God. However, the training offered by the Greek Book College specifically serves the evangelical churches that traditionally belong to Protestantism.

Our Vision

Our vision is to inspire, train and equip persons with hearts of service so that they can participate in the development and progress of the Christian churches in Greece and throughout the world, to the glory of God.

Our Mission Our mission is...

.01

To inspire our students with the value of Christian thought, the virtue of Christian character and the vision of worldwide Christian witness and action...

.02

To equip our students with tools for interpreting Holy Scripture and understanding historical and contemporary Christian doctrine and theological thought...

.03

To train our students in the skills of communicating the message of Holy Scripture and the Christian faith, as well as of the pastoral care of communities of faith...

… in order to prepare persons who will serve Christian churches through pastoral ministry, preaching, teaching, counseling, mission, church planting and development, and any other Christian witness and action for the benefit of humanity and the glory of God.

Statement of Faith

1. There is one eternal God, Creator and Lord of the universe, who, in the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, governs all things according to the will of God and fulfills the purposes of God in the world and in the church.

2. Holy Scripture in its entirety is inspired by the Spirit of God through human authors and constitutes the revelation of God’s truth to humanity. It is absolutely true and trustworthy in all that it affirms. Whatever the Bible teaches, when properly interpreted, we are committed to believe and obey. It is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

3. All people are created in the image of God and therefore have inherent worth and are equal before God. Human sin and guilt from the fall have made us subject to the wrath and condemnation of God and have led to our alienation from the life of God, the obscuring of the truth of God, and hostility toward the law of God. The love of God desires all to come to repentance and be reconciled rather than condemned.

4. Salvation from the guilt, penalty, and all other consequences of sin has been accomplished exclusively through the work of Jesus Christ – His perfect obedience, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection, and His exaltation as Lord. Jesus Christ is the only true God and true man, the only mediator between God and humanity. There is no salvation through any other person, doctrine, process, or power. Every sinner is justified before God and reconciled to God solely through divine grace that becomes his own through faith alone.

5. The work of the Holy Spirit is necessary for the new birth and growth of the person. The Holy Spirit empowers and indwells the church, enabling it to be continually renewed in truth, wisdom, faith, holiness, love, ministry, power, and mission.

6. There is one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church, which is the Body of Christ, and to which all true believers belong. The calling of the church is to worship God forever and to serve God in the world.

7. As the Father sent the Son into the world, so the Lord Jesus Christ sends His church to participate in God’s mission through word and deed. The church is called: to make Christ known, to proclaim the truth of God and the gospel of God’s grace, to make disciples of all nations, to manifest the character of God through compassionate care for those in need, to reveal the reality of God’s kingdom through a creative and sacrificial life, a community of love, the pursuit of virtue, justice and peace, and care for God’s creation.

8. As the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to His Father, in the same way He will return personally, visibly, and in glory. He will raise the dead and complete salvation and judgment. God will fully establish His kingdom and complete the new creation – a new heaven and a new earth from which all evil and every evildoer, all pain and death will be excluded, and where God will be glorified forever.

As is clear from the above, the Greek Bible College is part of the tradition of the historic dogmas drawn up during the first centuries of the ecumenical Christian Church as these are expressed in the Nicene Creed.

The College belongs to the Evangelical tradition, but no particular system of theology dominates the class teaching. The Evangelical faith is taught in an environment of academic freedom on the basis of tolerance and respect for the views of every student and teacher and their respective denominations.

Controversial issues are handled with an appreciation of different views held by various believers. Extreme positions or emphases which cause divisions among students and teachers are avoided. Theological dialogue is encouraged only if it promotes and cultivates true unity among believers in Christ and is conducted with peaceful motives in order to edify; not dismiss or exclude.

The College trains students in biblical or theological subjects to serve the church and Christian ministry both in Greece and rest of the world. Our confession is in line with that of most interdisciplinary Bible Colleges around the world.
